Abstract

A case of Dubin-Johnson syndrome in 35 years old Korean female is reported. The presenting symptoms were intermittent jaundice, abdominal pain and anorexia of 2 years´ duration. Laboratory findings showed increased serum bilirubin with direct reacting bilirubin predominating (total 3.082mg./dl.). Teh only other abnormality in liver function in 24 hours. Cholecystogram reyealed good visualization of the gall bladder.
A needle biopsy specimen of liver showed coarsely granular brown pigment in liver cells but was otherwise normal histologically.
Review of the literature is presented.
